Not much of a Halloween

Well, for poor Erik, Halloween in Australia was a big disappointment. At first it looked if no one would come trick-or treating, but then one group came by and then another, so after dinner, we got dressed up and headed out the door with an orange BWS (Beer, Wine and Spirits bottle shop) in hand. Unfortunately, only one house on our block looked even the least bit approachable, a porch light on. After braving one barking dog, Erik made it up to the door to get what would be his only candy of the night. We circled the block looking for friendly looking houses, knocked on a few doors to no avail and since we hadn't spotted another groups of goblins the whole time, we decided to head home. Poor Erik! Maybe next year we'll figure out what other kids do, maybe they stop at parties or friends' houses.
