It's hard to believe, but Erik turned seven last Tuesday. He's really not my little baby anymore! To celebrate we took the day off school and hopped on the City Cat Ferry to the Maritime Museum in South Bank to check out the ships and models on display. Sometimes, I think it's a shame we don't have a boat here since Erik is so fascinated by them, but then again if we were always dragging him out on the weekends it might dampen his enthusiasm.
When we got back home to Sherwood, we made up a pirate cake complete with a desert island and treasure chest. After dinner, we opened presents and what a haul it was, almost like Christmas: Jelly Belly candies, a fishing pole, and cricket set from us, Kinects, a handheld electronic Battleship game and some books from Grandma and Grandpa,two Seattle theme books from the Bakers, Legos from Michelle, Lydia and Laurel, and a Pirates of the Caribbean treasure chest from Emilie. All that and he is still going to have a party with his friends on Saturday. Erik is seriously spoiled!
