We are in Sydney now, house sitting for our friends who live by the beach in Manly. It's nice to be in one place after two days on the road, with a overnight stays in Port Macquarie halfway down and on the Hawkesbury River, just north of Syndey (As our friends were preparing to leave very early in the morning, our presence would have been a bit of a distraction, so we purposely delayed our arrival and took the opportunity to explore the boating haven of the Hawkesbury region.) 
Less hot and humid than Brisbane, the seaside summer weather has been wonderful, which makes daytime outing a bit more pleasant. The first day we spent showing Grandma Jeanne the neighborhood and playing at the beach. Yesterday, we took the ferry into the city with Jeanne and I going to see the Opera house, the Rocks historical quarter, and the Botanic Garden and Mark and Erik breaking off to visit the Maritime Museum. Today we'll relax and maybe later in the day go u to North Head to take in the panoramic view of Sydney Harbor. Then tomorrow, we'll be off to the Snow Mountains for some "bush walking" and hopefully a hike to the top of Mount Kosciuszo, which at 2,228 meters/7,3010 feet is the highest peak in Australia.
