Veranda View Thanks to all those who sent snow pictures over the last few weeks especially to Amy for the Iceland trip photos. What a contrast to the weather here!
Plumeria or Frangipani (in Oz-speak)Our Plumeria tree is in full bloom, and it's too hot in the middle of the day to do much of anything outside. However, by 5:00 it cools off enough to go out and kick the ball around a bit.
ErikOn the weekends, we try to get to the beach. This time we went to Surfer's Paradise. It's not the prettiest beach (too many buildings), but it's an easy hour's drive. This weekend, there was a bike race for Mark to watch while Erik and I played in the sand.
We had a strange occurrence today. One that would probably not have happened in Seattle. While having our picnic lunch at the beach, Erik lost a tooth (his second), and in the process of handing it to me the tooth was dropped in the sand, which is almost the consistency of powdered sugar. Despite searching for half an hour, we were never able to locate the tooth. We decided that this was a special Australian beach tooth, to become forever part of the shore at Surfer's Paradise.
